Number portability to be tested in September

The Spanish-Peruvian consortium CEI ((Informática El Corte Inglés, Everis Spain y Consulting Outsourcing Management Com) has signed contracts with mobile operators Claro, Movistar and Nextel Peru to implement portability.

It was stated that tests will begin in September, to offer the service by early 2010. CIS is responsible for managing the database of subscribers that apply for portability, verify applications and resolve whether to proceed or rejected them. It also generates a daily file of numbers benefiting from the portability.
